haven't even gotten a card yet but he's going to Paris on my birthday without me, so i figure i've got some kharma to burn.

it's a tradition in my family for the family to be gone for my birthday. Only once since i was x has the entire nuclear family been in town and present. It's really starting to piss me off. Every once in a while my _______ mother goes off about how i never got a proper xst birthday, and we should fix that, because x is an important year. My retort is usually 'how 'bout just a proper [fill in current year here] birthday instead?'. But no, i'm not bitter.

Celebrate a x/x birthday... My roommate's b-day is the day after x-mas. It sucks, every year. She's never had a decent b-day EVER. So, this year we're celebrating it on June xth. Full party and everything. (I started doing x/x b-days in elementary school, cause mine is in the summer and either I or my friends were always out of town)
